The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch can allow anyone toadd a piece of history to their timepiece collection. Dating back to 1957 whenit was part of the Seamaster line, this iconic watch was presented as anaccurate chronograph and the official timekeeper for the Olympics. The famedachievements of this Omega watch didn't end there. In 1962, NASA began testingvarious chronographs for their performance in harsh conditions found in outerspace. The Omega Speedmaster came out on top. Some of the arduous trialsendured by these watches included temperature extremes, relative humidity, highpressure, shock, acceleration, and vibration. One feature of the Speedmasterthat helped this historic piece pass NASA's standards was the Calibre 321,which has since been upgraded to the Calibre 861, providing exceptionallyaccurate movement. Among the astronauts who wore a Speedmaster were WallySchirra on the Mercury flight, Ed White during the Gemini 4 mission, and BuzzAldrin when he first stepped foot onto the moon. Neil Armstrong was alsoequipped with the same model, which he left on the Lunar Module. 

This Omega Moonwatch is created to honor the history of theSpeedmaster and that first manned mission to the moon. To commemorate the moonlanding event and the Moonwatch being the first watch worn on the moon, eachcasing features engraving on the back. You will see the Omega emblem along witha notation about the first lunar landing mission and the flight qualificationsthat Omega met with these models. With a stainless-steel casing, the jet blackface and domed Plexiglas crystal can stand out as part of a classic timepiece.The high contrast white hands and tick marks along the dial can make it easy toread the time in brightly or dimly lit environments. The distinctive hands arecoated with Super-LumiNova for brilliance in a darkened space. The broad arrowhands evolved into alpha hands. Since this Omega watch was designed as a sportsand racing chronograph, you can find a professional tachymeter along the blacksteel bezel for tracking speed. Buttons on the side operate the three subdialson the face when pressed. You can also use these buttons to operate the timerfeatures of the Omega Speedmaster.

At the heart of this chronograph is OMEGA’s mechanical caliber1861, the legendary manual-winding movement worn on the Moon. This timepiece isoffered with a special Moonwatch presentation box which contains a"NATO" strap, a strap for astronauts, The following is not included(missing) a tool to change the bracelet (I have included a premium expertswatches tool valued $19.99) and a book highlighting Speedmaster'sadventures.
